Yesterday I had my first meeting with my mentor. She was very helpful and now me and my partner have a better idea on what to do with our project. We realized and accepted that this project has to be more than just a project. We have to actually try and help people who are being bullied. Here is a picture of all of us:
My school is having a no bully week next week and me and my partner are helping out with that. We are going to set up in the quad and have people sign and pledge that they would not bully and to stand up against it. That should be fun! Finally, we fixed the appointment problem and we will be meeting our mentor Dr. Kelly Bentz on Tuesday. So far everything is going pretty smoothly.
This week me and my partner set up an appointment with our mentor for next week on Monday. The only problem is we don't have any school on Monday because of Martin Luther King Jr. day. Our appointment was scheduled for lunchtime and now we have to change the appointment date. For today, we both hope to get this problem situated as soon as possible.
I have five more months with this project, and this is what I plan to do with it:
January: Me and my partner Kyra hope to have couple meetings with our mentor Dr. Bentz. February: We want to make our websites the best that they can be with the help of our mentor. March: We would like to participate in Bully Awareness clubs. April: We would like to review all that we had done and prepare to present our project. May: Present our project. Hopefully all of our goals will be met. So me and my partner decided to just focus on our websites. We feel that if we try and perfect our websites, our project will have a stable base to be built on. Hopefully we are correct about this and the fact that we focused on our websites will help us in the long run.
Me and my partner can't figure out what we want to do for this project. We are kind of lost but hopefully we can clear up the confusion soon.
Me and my partner Kyra have found ourselves a mentor! We are getting closer and closer to perfecting our websites. We would like to thank Dr. Kelly Bentz for agreeing to mentor us. We can't wait to start on our mission to spread bullying awareness!
My first pitch was very nerve-wrecking. I look at my 30 to 40 people audience and start sweating. It seemed to me that most of the kids there were bored and did not want to be there. Although I was nervous, I made myself seem very calm and happy to be up in front of an audience. I was a little bit happy that I had my partner Kyra with me. Because she was there, some attention was away from me and I felt more confident up there with her.
After I was done with my pitch, I felt so much better. I felt like me being worried about going up there in front of everyone was crazy. Even though I could tell that most of the audience members were not happy about being there, they were very respectful about it. I think I got my message across to everyone that was there. I am very happy with my results of my very first pitch. |
